1991 Junior A Mid Cork Champions Picture Collage Presentation

On the 17th December 2016 a collage was presented to Brownes Bar/Macroom GAA on behalf of the 1991 Junior A Mid Cork Champions. It was presented by Owen McCarthy, Gerry 'Cooper' Kelleher and Noel O'Riordan in recognition of the 25th anniversary of that historic win.
The collage was made up of original clippings from local papers of the time, which ironically had been missing for the last 24 years but resurfaced this year.
It recounts the journey of that team from the superb first round victory over Blarney to a hard fought win against Iveleary in the final held in Kilmurry.
On the night Owen McCarthy spoke briefly about that year and the good memories that are still present to this day. John O'Mahony, Chairman of Macroom GAA accepted this and hopefully it will take pride of place in the GAA hall and will continue to provide long lasting memories for all to enjoy and relive.
The unveiling was attended by most of those players that were unable to attend the very successful reunion held on 22nd October in the Castle Hotel Macroom organised by Gerry 'Cooper' Kelleher and Noel O'Riordan.
It's hard to believe that 25 years has passed since this victory and it was great to share those memories last Saturday night.
