It was a busy weekend on the field for the club with most teams in action:


u6s

They had their first training of the year in Tom Creedon Park. Twenty players took to the pitch and a great time was had by all as they kick off their careers in the green and white.


u8s

The U8s had a great day in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. They had two teams and played three games each. They played Barryroe, Glanmire, Bantry and Whitescross. Great skill and effort was shown by all players for their first day out of the year.

u9s

The u9s had a really good showing against Valley Rovers at the weekend and showed some real promise


The squad that competed was as follows:

Ciaran Murray, Michael Deasy, Tristane Mullane, Evan O'Keefe. David Condon, Tadhg O'Driscoll, Dylan O'Shea, Ryan Brophy, Aled Hopkins, Cian Lee, Oisin Rybalka


u10s

The u10s played Aghabullogue in their first league game of the year in Coachford and had great displays from many players on the day in both games/


The squad that competed included the following:

Ivan Rybalka, Michael Cregan, Michael Kelleher, Michael Dunne, Conor Coughlan, Ultan O'Tuama, Donagh Moss, Ronan O'Sullivan, Ronan Duggan, Ben Ronan, Dan Lyons, Robie Magee, Conrad Melia, Daniel Lucey, Alex Waugh, Eoin Holland.


u11s

The u11s played their first league game away to Carrigaline on Saturday morning and had two teams competing, all the boys put in a great effort and both games were very competitive.


u12s

The u12s played a Aghabullogue in a challenge game Sunday morning in Macroom, both teams found scores difficult to come by in the early stages with Macroom just ahead at half time. The second half saw a much improved performance from Macroom aided by a strong breeze, with scores coming more frequently. Macroom ran out winners by a few scores in what was a pleasing performance

u14s

The U14s played Kilmichael in the league at the weekend and suffered defeat in their second game having won the first game in the league. They had 21 players competing. They have Feile Peil to look forward to on the 06th April.

Colin Kelleher, David Burke, Joshua O'Connor, Aidan Lynch, Bobby Murphy, Jamie Murphy, Ruairi Kiernan, Danny McKirgan, Maciej Byrdziak, Michael Oleksy, Martin Fitzgerald, Rory Cregan, Alex Geasley, Darragh Hogan, Rowan Mullane, Liam McSweeney, Cian Noonan.


Minor

The Minor footballers played their opening league game of the year against Aghabullogue tonight but suffered defeat.


Premier Intermediate Footballers:

The Premier Intermediate Footballers lost out to Knocknagree in the Tom Creedon Cup Semi Final on Sunday on a scoreline of Macroom 0-10 to Knocknagree 0-16. 


The team that started was:

Brendan O'Connell, Michael Cronin, Paul O'Farrell, Rory Buckley, Sean McMahon, Alan Quinn, Mark Corrigan, Fintan Goold, Caleb Dineen, David Horgan (capt), Ethan O'Gorman, Tony Dineen, Pa Lucey, Conor O'Sullivan, Andrew Hegarty. Subs introduced - John Murphy. Gerard Angland, Eolan O'Leary, Don Creedon


Macroom now turn their attention to the league next Sunday v Kanturk and the following weekend have championship in Coachford v St. Michaels.


Grant Allocation:

Macroom GAA were recently awarded €3,500 in the General Municipal Allocations for 2019 for the upgrading of lights in Tom Creedon Park. Special thanks to Cllr Ted Lucey for helping the club with this.


u14s can dance!

Well done to some of our u14 footballers who recently competed and won in the All Ireland Foroige's got Talent Competition - well done to all involved
