Macroom minors travelled to Kilmurry on Sunday morning last for a clash with the home side in the  Rebel Óg West U18 Div 1 league and earned a fine win on a 1-9 to 0-8 scoreline.
With both sides having lost their respective league openers, a win here was vital for each but both sides were missing players due to injury.  Kilmurry, aided by the slight wind got off to a good start but the Macroom response was rapid and the visitors went into the lead.  Points were exchanged before a goal, resulting from the quick reactions of Odhran Creed, made the scoreline at half time 1-5 to 0-4 in favour of Macroom.

On the restart, Kilmurry got a few nice points before Macroom started to exert pressure around the mid field area and further points followed from Kuba Gdaniec and Cian O’Sullivan, followed by a score of real quality from the impressive Sam Leavy which left Macroom  winning on a scoreline of Macroom 1-10 to Kilmurry’s 0-9.
